So many people want to get it quick, and 'it' can be several things. It may sound something like this: "Let me win the lottery and get rich quick. Let me get that job and get paid quick. Let me be who they want me to be to make friends quick."
There's the act of wishing and wishing and not doing the slow motion doing. What I mean is that it's not always a quick step to greatness or richness or fame. It's not always a hop, jump, and skip away. It's not a linear path.
It's time. It's patience. It's discipline. It's a process. It's a journey. It's the gift of your own attention as my coach says.
It is in the small step today and a focused gaze on YOUR target (no one else's... your vision isn't a competition) that you can create the life you want. It is in relishing the gift you have before you with the success and progress you've made today whether big or small.
I had a coaching call last week with a potential client who was in a frenzy to get to a place of freedom. I heard in them what I've experienced myself. This urgency to get to the target quickly; so quickly that you aren't making any progress at all because you're trying to be in the future without being in the present.
Listen to what's happening around you. Be still and be kind to yourself. It's a journey. It's a step now and another step tomorrow. And even the smallest step should be celebrated. It's not always quick leap to reach your aspirations. We can succeed more when we take it SLOW.
Action step for you: Think of a celebrity that took years to make their dream come true. I have one. Tyler Perry!! His initial start was a financial failure. Through perseverance and a commitment to his work, he made it. Step by step!!
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill
